Boards and Committees:

Bath Township is supported by a variety of boards and committees that play an important role in shaping the community and advising township leadership. Below you’ll find the board/committee missions and responsibilities, highlighting many ways residents can get involved. Even when positions are full, residents are encouraged to express interest to help the township maintain a list of those willing to serve when opportunities arise. The Appearance Review Commission members are appointed by the Township Trustees and are tasked with reviewing site plans, building elevations, and signage for commercial projects and to make recommendations to the Zoning Inspector.

The Board of Zoning Appeals members are appointed by the Township Trustees and are tasked with reviewing and deciding on variance requests and conditional uses in accordance with the Zoning Resolution.

The Zoning Commission members are appointed by the Township Trustees and are tasked with reviewing and making recommendations on zoning text amendments and proposed changes to the township zoning map.

Bath Park Board is an independent 501 (c)(3) organization working as a liaison group in an advisory capacity to Bath Township Trustees for the betterment and preservation of the township parks. The Park Board sponsors several educational activities and events to create awareness of and encourage the use of Bath parks.

The Heritage Corridors of Bath is a designated Scenic Byway in Ohio, encompassing 39 miles of scenic Bath Township roadway. This committee was developed to assist in preserving the historic and scenic byway of the township.

The Water and Sewer District was established under O.R.C. 6119 in the unincorporated areas of Bath Township to preserve the health, safety, and welfare of the township residents. This board is an autonomous board, separate and distinct from the Township Trustees. This board oversees the approval process for businesses and residential properties seeking connections to sanitary sewer or city water lines.
