The various applications utilized by the Bath Township Planning & Zoning are made available on this website for downloading. By clicking on the appropriate application form, you may print it out, complete it, and bring it with you when applying for a permit, variance, or rezoning request. Call Planning & Zoning at 330-666-4007 with questions. Once a permit is issued, the applicant must obtain a building permit before starting construction; refer to the Summit County Building Department, 1030 Tallmadge Avenue, Akron, OH 44310, 330.630.7280.
Note: A "Grading Permit" may be required - check with the County Engineer's Office prior to building. Summit County Engineer, 538 E. South Street, Akron, OH 44311, 330.643.2850.
In addition, as you plan your improvements, please note the following special considerations:
Streams, wetlands, and floodplains - Bath Township has regulations pertaining to these natural features providing additional building setbacks. If one of these features is on or near the property, the required setback may affect the location of the home, accessory structure, driveway, or other improvement.
Steep slopes - If a home, accessory structure, driveway, or other improvement is being built on or near steep slopes, a Conditional Use from the Board of Zoning Appeals may be required. The site topography must be included on site plans when slopes approach 18% or greater.
